My fall workshop is this Thursday, October 15-17, and there's room for a few more to attend. So I just wanted to entice you by answering any doubts!
Doubt 1: Do I really want to spend three days on Zoom?
Ha, that was my big question too. It turns out it's fine! For one thing it's not exactly all day, in that there are breaks and we finish by 4:30. For another, there's quite a bit of interaction and, well, action. So it's not like just sitting there. You move around and paint and get whatever you need and come back, that kind of thing. You can even listen to music while painting (just mute your Zoom mic).
Doubt 2: Is it complicated, setting up for both painting and Zoom, plus the online forum?
This has turned out pretty easy for everyone so far. I provide setup tips, the Sedona Arts Center offers Zoom support, and the forum is super easy. You will need to be able to take photos of your painting-in-progress and post them to the forum, because I annotate the photos to demonstrate points.
Doubt 3: Will I get real personal attention?
Absolutely! Class size is limited to 12, and I try to address each individual's intentions, needs, and strengths, just as I would in person. This is a live, interactive workshop.
All of the slides that we go over in class are posted in the Resources section of the forum, so you can review and download them, along with handouts and a video reminder of the techniques. If you continue to work on your paintings after the workshop, you're welcome to post followup photos or questions for feedback over the next couple of weeks.
