Two Valuable Workshops for Singers: Vocal Health and Auditioning
The next two sessions from Chicago Master Singers (CMS) University offer something special for singers. This Monday, October 12 at 7 pm, CMS Music Director John Hughes will lead a workshop on vocal health and warm-ups. He will discuss factors that help or hinder vocal health and the importance of vocal warm-ups. Singers at home can participate along with the warm-ups that are demonstrated during the session. We will also learn about vocal cool-downs and how they help the voice.
Next week, on Monday, October 19 at 7 pm, CMS University presents a workshop on auditioning confidently. Maestro Hughes will share his perspective as someone who has been on both sides of many auditions. He will provide insights on what he looks for in auditions and strategies musicians can use to feel confident and calm going into an audition. As in all CMS University programs, participants who join the live event on YouTube will have an opportunity to ask questions. Register now! The seminars are free, but registration is required so that we can send you a link to each event. If you experience any difficulty in registering, please contact us at info@chicagomastersingers.org. We will be happy to help you.
If you miss the live event, you can access the recording later on the CMS YouTube channel, where you can watch any of the earlier programs you may have missed.
The weekly seminars will continue through November, featuring diverse and compelling musical topics led by Dr. Hughes. The complete seminar schedule is shown below. Register for as many as you like. There is no charge, but donations are always gratefully accepted.
