Cazenovia Forum Lecture Series
GOOD NEWS: If you missed the "Driving While Black" virtual lecture and discussion, you can still view the film on Tuesday, October 13th on WCNY TV.
October 13th, 2020, 9 PM - "Driving While Black:
Race, Space, and Mobility in America" on WCNY TV
Because we are unable to host live events at the present time, The Cazenovia Forum has been searching for other ways to bring events involving conversations on issues of importance to our loyal supporters. To that end, we are proud that we are now a programming supporter of Syracuse's PBS station WCNY.
WCNY will be airing DRIVING WHILE BLACK: RACE, SPACE, AND MOBILITY IN AMERICA - a ground-breaking two-hour documentary film by acclaimed historian Dr. Gretchen Sorin and Emmy-winning director Ric Burns - on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 9:00 pm ET. The documentary focuses on the history and personal experiences of African Americans as they travel on the road from the advent of the automobile through the 1960's and beyond. The film is based on Gretchen Sorin's book Driving While Black: African American Travel and the Road to Civil Rights.
