Flatbread Fundraising Event - Recap
On September 29 Miss Maine joined with Flatbread Portland for their Benefit Bakes program. A percentage of every pizza and flatbread sold that night was donated to our scholarship fund. On a Tuesday during COVID we raised $540! Thank you to Flatbread and our Miss Maine, Carolyn Brady for conceiving this event, as well as our titleholders, volunteers and patrons who came out to make this event possible. We're proud and grateful to have a friend in Flatbread Portland.

Rachel Wins the 2020 Aftel Award
Rachel Deane Binder, Miss Maine 1997 won the prestigious Art and Olfactory’s 2020 Aftel Award for Hand Made Perfumery for her ‘Rasa’ perfume. Congratulations, Rachel! We are thrilled that your dedication and work to hand made perfume is being received so well! Check out Pomare’s Stolen Perfume!

Karissa is an Audience Favorite
Karissa Lee Staples, Miss Maine 2006 won Audience Favorite in the 2020 For Our People Film Fest for her work in Robin Cloud's comedy short 2 Dollars. Congratulations, Karissa!

Daphne Juliet Ellis' Short Film is a Quarter Finalist
Congratulations to Daphne Juliet Ellis, Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen 2013! The short film that she starred in was a Quarter Finalist at the 2020 LA Film Awards! Keep your eye out on the indie film circuit for more information on the film, Elizabeth by Jamal Rahman to see Daphne's performance.
