How are the Children?

A Webinar on the imprisonment of
Palestinian Children
October 25 at 11 am ET, 2 pm PT

In 2018, Rev. Traci Blackmon, Associate General Minister of Justice & Local Church Ministries for The United Church of Christ, asked the UCC in the traditional manner of the Maasai people of Kenya, "Kasserian Engeri?" translated "And how are the children?" It is an important question because the answer represents the wellbeing of an entire society.

The UCC PIN has prepared a video-based adult ed curriculum based on this question. Please register to attend a webinar presentation of the film entitled "How Are the Children?" by completing the form at the link.

This video helps viewers understand the crisis of Palestinian teens and children being arrested and detained by the Israeli occupying forces. Especially in this time of Covid 19, it is dangerous to put kids in prison where the outbreak is active. The Central Pacific Conference of UCC Palestine Israel Network is sponsoring this presentation. They will introduce the film and help with questions following the film.

Preach Palestine!

FOSNA is looking for 100 congregations to preach on Palestine during advent! Here is their list to help make this happen:

Keep Awake: Worship Resources for the First Week of Advent. Find all you need to incorporate Palestine into your worship service. We have collected litanies, prayers, music, art, children's stories, and sermons from a variety of traditions and in diverse voices, including contributions from Kairos Palestine, the World Council of Churches, and FOSNA's Seminary and Clergy Action Council. You are welcome to use and adapt these resources for your community.

Reach Out to Christian Communities Using our Outreach Guide. Help us reach 100 churches by sharing about Keep Awake. Our outreach guide has everything you need to post on social media or invite congregations to join.
