This three-day #MeTooLGBTQ conference aims to increase culturally competent services for victims/survivors of sexual and relationship violence who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer and create space for LGBTQ+ survivors to connect personally and access community resources. It represents a first step toward developing long-term solutions that bridge gaps between LGBTQIA+ communities and healing spaces and care for survivors of sexual violence.
This year’s theme, “Queer Resilience is Resistance,” centers approaches that celebrate the similarities between resilience and resistance and examine how those strengths converge with intersectional identities to foster self-advocacy among individuals and communities. Substantially, the 2020 conference will filter its content through the dual lenses of anti-racism/racial justice and engaging with trauma during a pandemic.
New this year, we are adding a youth track for attendees aged 13–18. Workshop tracks during all three days allow attendees to participate in interactive training and presentations, hear directly from LGBTQ+ survivors, and connect with valuable resources.
