You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be inspired. Tonight at 6 PM, Portland Monthly is hosting its annual Light a Fire Awards, presented by the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. This year’s event, hosted by Poison Waters, will be virtual, FREE, and only one hour, celebrating all the good work nonprofits and individuals have been doing in this challenging year. Celebrate our organization as we accept honors in the 'Giving Shelter' category!

Help us ring in twenty years as a Truckload of Coats partner - join us for a drive & drop event on November 6th from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Our agency relies on metrics to analyze our progress to ensure that we're on track to meet our goals and best serve our community. Fiscal year 2019/20's metrics speak to our team's incredible efforts to support our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Last year, despite contending with the COVID-19 pandemic, we:

  • Served more than 2,700 people in shelter, over 65% of whom were connected to a support service.
  • Provided 3,900 of our unhoused neighbors with essential supplies and personal protective equipment, helping over 350 people from the street to shelter or stable housing.
  • Housed 900 people, including 240 veteran families. 400 of those housed identified as BIPOC.
  • Served over 5,800 people in our Resource Center and provided nearly 38,000 hygiene services.
We're proud of what we accomplished in FY2019/20 and hope to help even more neighbors in need transition from homelessness to housing this year.

Help us honor our veterans during this year's Portland Veterans Stand Down. This annual event supports Veterans who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. While we're unable to gather in person this year, our team is putting together packs full of clothing, cold-weather gear, and hygiene & first aid supplies for 400 Veterans. Our team will meet with all of the Veterans  in our programs to connect them to support and employment services in advance of Veterans Day, providing crucial resources to those who have served.

Let a Veteran Know You're Thinking of Them

Make a donation of $20 or more to help fill our packs and we'll send out a special Veterans Day card in your favorite Veteran's honor.
