The Living Room

As winter approaches life gets even harder for those living on the streets of our borough. Read The Living Room's report from last winter about how they were able to reach out to those who were rough sleeping.

Please do pray for them as they can consider how the Living Room can best serve rough sleepers in the challenging circumstances of this winter.

Two's Company Information session (online)

Unsure how to support your local community during this difficult time?

Linking Lives can help your church set up a telephone befriending service.

Linking Lives was set up to help churches support those feeling lonely in their local community. This was originally based around face to face meetings, but in response to the Covid pandemic they have changed their approach to create a new telephone befriending service – ‘Two’s Company’ which provides churches with an opportunity to reach and support those who are particularly at risk during this time.

Join us online on on 11th November at 10.00 a.m. to find out more. Open to anyone who is interested in finding out more.

Breaking County Lines (Clewer Initiative)

This online course is for churches and community groups who want to raise awareness and take practical action against county lines.

County lines is becoming one of the most prevalent forms of modern slavery in our country. Breaking County Lines is designed as a resource to enable churches and communities to understand and raise awareness of the scale of the problem and spot the signs of its presence. It also looks at ways of building resilience in our communities with an emphasis on the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

It is delivered in the form of an online moodle course and 2 two hour online live sessions set one week apart. There will also be a 40 minute introductory session.
