Collaborative Lead Group

The group are briefed on a Homelessness in Western Australia perception survey and how the Alliance could assist with the work of the Zero Project.

Zero Project - Housing First Coordination for WA

Ruah Community Services has been appointed as the Housing First Coordinator for WA as part of the State Government’s Housing First Homelessness Initiative.

WA Housing Strategy 2020-2030

Housing Minister Peter Tinley AM MLA launches new housing strategy for Western Australia that delivers a new direction for housing in the State in the coming decade.

My Home

The “My Home” concept is based on the Housing First model and is delivered to a site provided by the Western Australian State Government at a peppercorn lease. The concept is devised by Michelle Blakeley an architect who has a keen interest in homeless housing.

City of Perth Elections

Ending Homelessness Forum

The WA Alliance to End Homelessness and Shelter WA hosted a forum with the seven candidates who hope to be the next City of Perth Lord Mayor. More than 80 people attended in person and another 80 Zoom participants watched the proceedings live.

Updates & Opportunities

Housing First and Ending Homelessness

Housing First and the Advance to Zero Methodology are different but mutually reinforcing approaches to ending homelessness. This session will explore the differences, and how both are being used to end rough sleeping homelessness in Australia and around the world.

Introduction to Continuous Improvement

Continuous Improvement is an essential component of the Advance to Zero methodology, this session is intended to introduce communities interested in using this approach.

National Homelessness Conference

A conference program that will examine the impacts on our sector from the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic as well as the catastrophic climate disasters of last summer. It will also cover the major challenges and opportunities in homelessness policy and practice.
