Students voted to establish the following schedule for Homecoming Spirit Days

  • 10/20 ~ Tiki Tuesday: Find your Hawaiian shirt, put on your grass skirt, grab your sun glasses, and throw on a lei
  • 10/21 ~ Team Day Wednesday: Represent your favorite college or professional sports team
  • 10/22 ~ Solid Color Thursday: Dress entirely in one color of your choice
  • 10/23 ~ EAST Day Friday: Wear blue & gold to support East!

There will be 15 prizes handed out to daily raffle winners, and on Friday, there will be 2 or 3 grand prize winners!  Click here to print the schedule.

Parking Lot Concerns
With the additional traffic created by having students return to a full in-person schedule, we kindly ask you to be mindful of the increased activity in our parking lot and drop off/pick up lane.  Please take a moment to review the parking lot procedures identified earlier this year here.

Please view the announcement from the Department of Agriculture concerning EGRPS food service here.  A few things to remember for lunch next week:

  • Previously ordered sack lunches will be served.  Please use this link to order both food and milk: online form.
  • Traditional, hot lunch will not be served
  • Microwaves will NOT be available for student use

Navy Stainless Water Bottle
Students are encouraged to bring water bottles as the office is not able to provide cups to students.   Drinking fountains are NOT accessible due to COVOD protocol, however, the water bottle filling station is available for student use as it is a touch free system.

Parents/guardians must conduct a daily health screener on each of their children prior to them attending school or a school-related event. The student screener is a simple checklist helping parents screen their child for COVID-19 symptoms and close contact. The form (which may be found here) also provides direction for next steps if symptoms or close contact concerns exist.

Thank you for keeping our school a safe place!

Mask Update

Please encourage your student to be mindful of bringing a mask to school each day.  As we get further into the year, more and more students are forgetting and stopping by the office to request a new mask.  While we understand masks break, it is the expectation that each family will regularly provide masks for their children.

Students are issued “Way to Go” cards for demonstrating Respect, Responsibility or Personal Best by doing the right thing!  As students receive these cards, they are placed in the container located in the Main Office. Every Friday, names are drawn and announced during the afternoon announcements.  Each student selected, has the opportunity to pick a prize from the prize basket simply as a way to say “Thanks, we appreciate and recognize you!”

This week's winners are:

Olivia Garza, 6th Grade
Shyla Stewart-McDuel, 6th Grade
Tyler Genthe, 8th Grade

Middle School Ski Club

The East Grand Rapids Middle School would like to invite all students to join an informal ski club at Cannonsburg for the winter of 2020-2021.  Students and ALL family members have the opportunity to purchase discounted lift tickets in the form of a punch card. You may use these tickets ANY time, but we will also organize Middle School ski nights when we see some good powder.  Transportation to Cannonsburg will NOT be provided, but we will plan to meet in the Lodge at Cannonsburg and get kids on the slopes with their friends.

If this sounds like something your child would like to get involved in this school year, please sign up starting at
https://cannonsburg.com/tickets-passes/. You will scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the options for passes.  All participants should fill out this form so that you’re not left out of any communications.  If you have any questions, please contact the Ski Club advisor Amy Marlow at amarlow@egrps.org.

Please click here for an options and pricing guide.
