LSS Thanksgiving Dinners
Once again this year we are supporting the Lutheran Social Service’s (LSS) Thanksgiving program. LSS provides 3500 Thanksgiving dinners to needy families throughout Central Ohio. We ask the congregation to contribute food items to this effort:
Members of the Choir, Bell Choir or our Bible studies are asked to donate starchy items:
- 2 pouches (or one box) of mashed potatoes
- 1 box (or bag) of stuffing mix
- 1 turkey gravy packet
Preschool families are asked to donate canned goods:
- 2 cans of fruit (suggestions: peaches, applesauce, pears)
- 2 cans of corn
- 3 cans of green beans
All others are asked to donate:
- 2 cans of pumpkin
- 1 can of cranberry sauce
- 1 boxed yellow cake mix
PLEASE, NO GLASS CONTAINERS
We will collect these items between Sunday, October 18 and Wednesday, November 11. Donations can be placed outside the main entrance to the church in the trash cans marked ‘Food Pantry Donation Bin’.

Photos for All Saints Montage
All Saints Sunday is November 1. This year as part of our online worship, we will be creating a montage of those who have recently died. If you have a picture of a friend or loved one who has died in the past couple of years, please email it directly to Jeremy Bankson.
These photos will appear in our All Saints worship broadcast as we remember those who have gone before us. Please have these pictures to Jeremy no later than Monday, October 26.
Blessings! Pastor John Morris

All Saints Bells
Each year on All Saints Sunday, bell banners are a part of our worship service as we remember those who have gone before us in the faith.
If you would like to donate a small bell for the banners in memory of a loved one, please drop it off to the "Drop Off & Pick Up" cabinet by Sunday, October 25 and label it Bell Banner. Include your name, phone number and the name of the person for whom you are donating the bell.
The office also has small silver bells for the banner. If you would like to have one of these bells added to the bell banner please contact the office.

Gutters Replaced on Church Building
As a final phase of the roof replacement this summer, a gutter replacement project was completed last week by Feazel on about 50% of the building rain gutters. Improvement was made to roof drainage to eliminate some ongoing issues of water accumulation and courtyard flooding.
We are ready for rain now!

Bibles for Our Second Graders
Every year we pass out Bibles to our second grade students during our Reformation worship service. This year, with the pandemic upon us, we have come up with a different distribution mode.
On Sunday, October 25, beginning at 12:30 pm, Pastor Jim and I will be passing out Bibles to our second graders in a “Drive By Bible Party.” We will be in the front (or east) lot. We ask second grade families should drive in with masks on, and we will give your second grader a new Bible with a “goody bag” of Bible resources and say a quick prayer.
Normally, we would spend a day celebrating God’s word, but these are difficult times, and yet we still want to give our second graders their Bibles.
Just email me to let me know if you can participate.
We look forward to blessing you with the Gift of God’s Word!
Pastor John

Donations for College Connections
Last weekend for donations! We could use some more donations for our college students!
The boxes will be packed on Wednesday, October 21 so all donations must be received by then.
Drop off items to the "Drop-Off & Pick-Up" Cabinet at the front entrance. Financial donations are also welcome! Please write ‘College Connections’ in the check memo line or contribute online via Breeze.
College Connections is a free ministry at Prince of Peace where college students near and far receive care packages and cards to remind them of their home church family.

Rid Your Home of Unused, Unwanted, or Expired Medications
Do you have unused, expired, or unwanted medications left in your medicine cabinet? They have a propensity for misuse, abuse, and accidental poisoning, so it’s best to rid your home of these potential hazards.
Proper disposal is important for our health, safety, and our environment. The best option is at a prescription drop-off site. Several law enforcement agencies and businesses offer this service. Home disposal is an option, using specific precautions.
Be well. God loves you.

Parish Nurse
