Swazi borders are still closed to US Citizens, but our work MUST go on!

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who continues to donate toward our orphan programming far away, despite growing needs here at home.  Since the global pandemic started and schools closed down, we have focused all of our efforts on programs that enable the children to survive at home: water, sanitation, food, healthcare, and distance learning efforts.  THANK YOU for making it all possible!

Power of 1 Technology Grant

A long time supporter of GHFP, the Power of 1 Foundation, donated toward our children receiving the technology they need to navigate their virtual learning. Currently, the children without devices are forced to listen to the nationwide radio station and learn without any visual aids. Those with the devices are able to learn on an interactive audio/visual platform.

Our orphans living in child-headed homes lacked tech access and were at a major disadvantage in their pursuit of an education.  Now, however, each home will be equipped with a smart phone or tablet. Thank you Power of 1!!

Side note: If you'd like to listen in on how Power of 1 helps local Indiana charities as well as learn about some of our programming, you can Zoom in as Annie addresses their donors at their next virtual Philanthropy on Tap meeting: October 15th 7-8pm EST

We need 5 more rain catchment systems!

When we asked a large group of our children what their most urgent needs were, it was the voices of those who already had rain catchment systems at their homes insisting we should build rain catchments for the remaining 5 homes that still lack them.  We love how our children think of each other's needs despite their own circumstances still being bleak!

We are sending funds and hiring local partners to build rain catchments at the last 5 child-headed homes in Malindza as we speak. If you would like to contribute to this project, we are still $1516 short (of the $3332 total). It's not too late to donate for the children to have access to a sustainable water source - even $5 helps!
