Keeping connected

Time seems to be behaving very strangely in these times. September seems to have flown by, yet the warm summer feels a long time ago. I am enjoying working from a new office space, rather than being at home every day, as both the walk in and having work neighbours help me to feel connected to the wider world again.

During lockdown I really looked forward to our weekly Connect meetings on Zoom and these are continuing for the foreseeable future.

This week also sees the start of our new series of workshops, with Mental Health and Wellbeing kicking off the series on Tuesday 6th and Writing funding bids and applications next Wednesday 14th.

You can find out more about these, including booking details, below.

I hope to see some of you soon

Best wishes

Jayne

Arts Well: Connect

Our weekly opportunity to connect up with others to discuss matters of creativity, health and wellbeing is happening this Thursday between 10 and 11, using Zoom. It is free to attend, but please register here so that I know whom to expect.

One of the issues we might discuss is whether and how to offer activities face to face and/or online as I know some of you are thinking about this.

Arts Well: Grow - Improving mental health and wellbeing through creativity

Our autumn workshop series begins on Tuesday 6th October with Improving mental health and wellbeing through creativity - for more details and to book a place click here.  Next Wednesday 14th October we are running Writing funding bids and applications - you can book that here. We continue to offer these at a range of prices so as not exclude anyone who might wish to benefit.

Creative facilitation research

There is a great opportunity to be involved in a research study looking at how creative facilitators navigate the potential benefits and challenges of delivering arts, health and wellbeing activities, including during the practice changes resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak.

This study is part of Julia Puebla Fortier's doctoral degree research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is being conducted using a participatory approach with facilitators and partners, including Arts & Health South West.
For more information about the project and how to participate please see the website.

Space for hire

I am pleased to say that my fold-up tables and chairs have arrived, together with the mobile partition/display wall so the space here at Jubilee Wharf is now available to hire for meetings, workshops or groups. Obviously in these times, numbers are limited to comply with Covid-19 rules, but the space is large, well-ventilated and adaptable.

It's available for £10 per hour, with discounts available for regular or all-day bookings. For more information please email Jayne or see the website for more details.
