FALL 2020 NEWSLETTER

An update from your friendly, neighbourhood Community Theatre troupe.

Dear Friends,

At this time of year our theatre is usually in the last dash to get our first play ready for opening night, and we'd have a slate of incredible, local, live theatre shows ready for production waiting in the wings. Although our season has changed from the usual fare, we are excited to offer a whole newsletter full of ways to stay connected and creative, and ways to help Keep Our Lights On while we acclimatize to this new normal. And, we even have a show to announce. So, times may be odd, but LLT will continue to evolve and find ways to entertain and delight you. Promise!!

Read on to find out what our 2020/2021 Board of Directors have been up to. We had a wonderful turnout for September's Bottle and Clothing Drive and raised over $1000. We are so thankful for the time and energy our members put into making events like this successful. And thank you to all who donated! (There is still time to donate clothing, household items and books.)

LLT relies on 100% Volunteer Power to stay afloat and operating. As an organization we are excited to face the challenges before us head on. With our usual season of shows on hold, Lindsay Little Theatre is going to knock your socks off in ways that maintain physical distancing, but move you nonetheless.

Thank you for your interest and support. We hope this newsletter finds you and your loved ones safe and well.

All the best,

Shannon Bain
President, Lindsay Little Theatre

Sharpen those pencils....

Calling all knitters!

All you need to do is get sponsors and knit, knit, knit - how easy is that? All of the proceeds go towards keeping our lights on! This fundraiser runs through the entire month of October, so register now and get knitting! More details can be found at http://www.lindsaylittletheatre.com/donate/

Not a knitter? No problem! Feel free to support a knitter by emailing us or share one of our social media posts to help spread the word.

There is still time to donate clothing, household items and books.

Clothing should be in bags. Household items in boxes. Books in separate boxes. We accept gently-used clothing, linens, jewelry, shoes, accessories (such as belts and purses), and small household goods.

Memories of Lindsay Little Theatre

Are you an LLT alum? Do you have a great memory about one of our shows? We are looking for Memories of Lindsay Little Theatre to share. Do you have a cast photo or show picture? We'd love, love, love to hear from you. Email a short blurb along with any photos to Logan at info@lindsaylittletheatre.com

Lindsay Little Theatre has provided the Kawartha Lakes region with theatre performances for over 50 years. However, as a result of COVID-19, we were forced to post-pone our 2020-2021 season until further notice.

Much of our operating costs are covered by our theatre season, but in these unprecedented times we face a grim reality of potentially having to close our doors to the public permanently. We must get creative in our fundraising efforts so that doesn't happen.

Lindsay Little Theatre has launched the “Keep The Lights On” fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $40,000.

Along with bottle drives, physically distanced mini-shows, knit-a-square events and more, we are pleased to announce our online donation portal is now open. Visit our website or click here to go directly to our secure donation page: https://www.joinit.org/o/lindsay-little-theatre.

Every little bit helps. Thank you for your consideration.

Lindsay Bingo Bingo!

One of the ways Lindsay Little Theatre raises the money we need to operate is through Lindsay Bingo Bingo! Each month our volunteers man the bingo card counter for a few hours and help to keep our lights on. Are you looking for ways to help and could volunteer a few hours of your Sunday? If yes, we'd love to hear from you! 3 people are scheduled for every shift and chances are 100% that you'd be among good company with our LLT members. Email info@lindsaylittletheatre.com or call us at 705-880-2445.

All LLT members are more than welcome at any of our monthly Business Meetings. Join the LLT board in discussing operations, current and future events.

All meetings start at 7 PM unless otherwise noted and will take place remotely until further notice. Email us at info@lindsaylittletheatre.com for an invite link.
