Hi <<First Name>>,

Have you noticed that time during COVID-19 seems to go both fast and slow? Regardless of the clock, The Water Council (TWC) team remains busy, focused on our mission (hear more about that in this Charlton Morris podcast), and working daily on providing valuable support and services for our Members. Connecting the dots and making connections is what we take pride in providing and a great example of that is a recent global trade mission panel discussion that I moderated as part of WEFTEC Connect. While there is so much more, I’m pleased to share the following highlights and water-related opportunities with you.

First up, we just launched the open application for BREW 2.0, our next-gen accelerator program designed to help market-ready water tech innovators to continue to build momentum on their path to market adoption success through training, visibility and connections. We’ve added new elements to the program, making it virtual (for now) and condensed it to two, one-week immersive sessions, along with ongoing support once the program wraps. For those of you outside our current ecosystem but looking to get plugged in, we’re accepting applications through Nov. 29, and you can learn all about it here. For those of you who are already Members, stay tuned on how and when you can meet these BREW 2.0 companies.

In new Member news, we’re pleased to welcome Beckhoff Automation to our water tech hub. We not only share a mission to enable closer technological collaboration to protect the world’s freshwater resources, Beckhoff Automation is also in the final stages of opening an office in the Global Water Center and a welcome addition under our shared roof.

Speaking of members, Beverley Ferrara and Karen Frost are coordinating a Virtual Market Visit to The Water Campus in The Netherlands, targeted to TWC Members looking to explore international market opportunities. Get all the details about the virtual visit here. And we’re connecting our member network through casual monthly Member Meetups too. The next one is Oct. 27, and Ruth McNeil of the European Water Test Network will share how the organization offers support and funding opportunities for piloting water tech solutions in Europe, plus more—RSVP here.

With just about 7 days before we close the fall round of Tech Challenge, if you or someone you know is working on a water quality sensing and/or remediation solution for heavy metals, industrial chemicals or microbial organisms using non-chlorine tech, it’s time to apply or share the opportunity.

Building off our popular July session and as promised, we’re hosting a follow-on U.S. federal policy insights webinar on Nov. 17 to help you keep close tabs on the U.S. election’s potential impact on the water industry in the new year. I’ll be welcoming back federal policy experts Josh Greene of A. O. Smith and Tim Hannegan of HLP&R Advocacy to share their insights.

While it’s often a challenge to find the time to keep up with industry trends, I really enjoyed the two most recent episodes in our Water Sessions podcast. Water strategist Will Sarni makes a good case to think about water stewardship as a business opportunity and Tom Woolley shows what harnessing the power of data can truly do for water utilities.

And for our Wisconsin small businesses, Phase 2 of the “We’re All In” grant program was extended to help assist with business recovery during COVID-19. If interested, do act quickly as applications are open through Nov. 2—learn more and apply here.

Until next month,

Dean
