Our online antique map gallery is updated daily. For your enjoyment and consideration, please find below a list of our most recent acquisitions.

We hope you and your loved ones remain both safe and healthy.  For now, Geographicus will continue to operate mostly as usual.  One change, we are limiting in-office appointments until further notice.  There also may be a slight delay in processing some orders, depending upon how governments and other businesses (like FedEx) respond to the coronavirus outbreak  While we will continue to ship most orders as they are received, on request we are happy to hold purchases for delayed shipping.

Beautiful, Historical Perspective View of Paris.

This is a 1655 Caspar Merian bird's eye view of Paris, France. It appeared in Merian's Topographiae Gallae, , published in Frankfurt in 1655. The view is oriented to the north-east, looking up the Seine towards Notre Dame (at center). Boats can be seen plying the river (whose direction of flow is indicated with arrows.) The walled city has 290 of its principal structures numbered to a key which appeared in the text. PRICE: 2100.00 USD

This is an 1826 French Dépôt de la Marine nautical chart or maritime map of the Gulf Coast of the United States. The map depicts the coast from the Laguna Madre in modern-day Texas to Saint Joseph Bay (Be. de St. José), near modern-day Panama City, Florida. Limited but finely engraved coastal detail appears throughout. Bays, lakes, and rivers are illustrated, among them Galveston Bay, Lake Pontchartrain, the Mississippi River, and its delta, Mobile Bay, and Pensacola Bay. PRICE: 2000.00 USD

This is a 1655 Caspar Merian plan, or map of Paris, France. It appeared in Merian's Topographiae Gallae , published in Frankfurt in 1655. The plan is oriented to the south-east, centered on the Île de la Cité and Notre Dame Cathedral. The younger Merian includes in the upper corners the coats-of-arms of Paris and of France. This is an 1826 Dépôt de la Marine nautical chart or maritime map of the Gulf Coast of Mexico. The chart details the region from the Laguna Madre south to the Yucatan Peninsula. Depth soundings appear haphazardly, disappearing along the stretch of coastline in the Bay of Campeche, except for the Laguna de Términos, underscoring just how poorly this region was mapped in the early 19th century. This is an 1885 Albert F. Poole bird's-eye view of Camp Framingham, Massachusetts, a former Massachusetts National Guard camp in Framingham. The view depicts training exercises undertaken by the Second Brigade of the Massachusetts Volunteer Militia. Individual tents are illustrated. They are also numbered and correspond with an index situated along the bottom border. This allows readers know where they or their loved one had spent those five days in July 1885. This is a 1962 Soviet Department of Geodesy and Cartography map of Cuba published the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis - thus one of the few published maps to capture this ephemeral moment from the Soviet perspective. Printed in the Soviet Union and with all text in Russian, a political and topographic map occupies the majority of the sheet. 80 to 100,000 American servicemen and women passed through here on their way home to the U.S. after World War II

This is a 1945 map of Replacement Depot No. One at Camp Malir, Karachi, India, after World War II in the Pacific. Roads throughout the camp are labeled, using names of states, cities, or even some of the Great Lakes. PXs, theaters, dispensaries, pools, American Red Cross clubs, and a beer garden appear as well. These locations underscore the reality that the men using this map simply needed to be entertained before getting on a ship back to the United States. PRICE: 150.00 USD

We are generalist antiquarians dealing in historic maps from all over the world and in all price ranges. Our enthusiasm, passion and devotion to scholarship is expressed in our meticulously researched studies of each map offering.  
Geographicus welcomes clients by appointment at our Brooklyn location.  Our hours are Noon to 6PM Monday through Friday, but other appointments, including evenings and weekends, are typically available on request.

We are located in the ground floor of a limestone townhouse in the historic Stuyvesant Heights district of Brooklyn.  The closest subway stop is Gates Avenue on the J train.  Commuting time is about 20 minutes from the Financial District.
