With our first round of 2020 kittens just about out the door and into homes, we are well into round two—the ones who will be ready around the winter holidays. In the last month we have taken in over two dozen cats and kittens in need of rescue. Everyone is settled into foster and now we are in need of YOUR financial help to get them happy, healthy, and home. Your contributions make a big impact on these little lives.

What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Cats
Kittens are a fun and fascinating work in progress! Adult cats, on the other hand, are beautiful beings that have become "who they are," more of a known quality. For less mystery and more personality, please consider adopting one of our grown-ups!

Madison is a super sweet, lovable cat looking for her forever home.
|
|
|
Madison is an incredibly sweet-tempered and affectionate 6-year-old girl. Her foster says she is the "easiest" of all cats. She's a silky soft tuxedo who gets along well with people and other cats. If there is some string toy action, she wants a little of that. If there's a hand available for pets and chin scratches, she definitely wants some of that!

Monkey the Red is the warmest of boys, six years old, orange & white, with nothing to prove except his love and appreciation for your attention. Pets? Brushing? A big soft blanket where he can make biscuits? Oh my, yes, all of that, please!

Jack & Manny are a pair of bonded brothers, young adults about 1.5 yrs old. They love each other, and once they fully make your acquaintance, you too! They enjoy a space with less commotion and activity, and in that place, they are very friendly, affectionate lap lovers. Pet one, and you will soon be petting two because that's how they roll. They have a particular fondness for high places and catios or screened-in porches with a view of the world. These two beautiful brothers can be visited at the adoption center at Tomlinson's Feed in Belterra Village.

Giving Then, Now, and Later

Amplify Austin was a long time ago and Giving Tuesday is still a long way off. We are experiencing a tremendous overload of intakes and at the same time a severe shortage of donations. Multiple grants this year have helped offset some of the financial burdens, but if you are able to make a monetary contribution, Thundering Paws would be beyond grateful.

Thank you very much to Tomlinson's and Petsmart for their recent donations of kibble and canned food. Thanks to each of YOU who bought food during last December's Pound4Pound program at Tomlinson's and to each of YOU who walked into Petsmart during a pandemic and took the time to buy us a can of food. We are beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity of our individual and corporate supporters.

We all know our kitties should not be out and about trick-or-treating but that does not mean that they don't get in on the Halloween fun. We are making a video slideshow of our followers’ pets—Thundering Paws alumni or not—celebrating how they enjoy our Halloween festivities. Please send pictures of your cat—or dog, or hamster, or whatever—in their spookiest surroundings to social@thunderingpaws.org and look for the video at the end of October!

We have profiles of many of our adoptable cats posted at the adoption center in PetSmart. Jack and Manny are in residence at the adoption center in Tomlinson’s.
