Continue learning more about public health with the second series of Public Health Insider, presented by college faculty and supported by the OSU Center for Health Innovation, OSU Alumni Association and OSU Foundation. Topics include "It takes a village: Shared challenges and shared solutions," "Isolate the problem: How COVID-19 is rapidly deteriorating social connectedness and exacerbating health disparities," and "Does your home pass the test? Record-breaking research

During FY '20, CPHHS faculty received $21,844,277 in awards and contracts, surpassing the previous record by more than $1.5 million. Oregon State topped out at more than $450 million, setting a new record for annual research funding. Learn more in Synergies online .

Long-time colleagues take helm of two key OSU nutrition centers

CPHHS Professor Emily Ho, right, is the new endowed director of the Linus Pauling Institute. Associate Professor Siew Sun Wong, left, is assuming Emily's former role and is now the endowed director of the Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition and Preventive Health. 2020 Alumni Fellow Rebecca Hernandez to speak on diversity in higher ed

Rebecca Hernandez earned a doctorate in human development and family studies in 2005. Since then, she has transformed the student experience and elevated multicultural awareness at George Fox University in Newberg in her roles as associate provost of local and global engagement, chief diversity officer, and director of the Center for Peace and Justice. She did similar work at Goshen College in Indiana, and before that she led community development work to improve support for Latino communities. She'll speak at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 via Zoom. Research with impact

$1.2 million grant will encourage private well-water testing

Researchers Molly Kile and Veronica Irvin combine expertise in environmental health and health promotion/health behavior to develop a well water safety program. Read more in Synergies online.
Recreation programs lacks disability-inclusive language
