We've laughed there, we've cried there, we've loved there. Over and over again.
Yesterday I received the very sad news that the Hotel Montepiedra, as we know it, is no longer. The Medina Family have been at the hotel for 23 years and we have called that place our home for the last 10. The adversity of 2020 and the damage caused by the rains of 2019 were the final nail in the coffin which has forced them to close their doors and end their tenancy prematurely. They assure me that they did not know this was going to happen so soon, it's a decision they have only come to in the last week or so and expressed their sadness at not saying goodbye 'properly' to many of you guys face to face, their favourite and loyal guests.
Friends for life.
I have met so many of you amazing people for the first time as you walked through those hallowed doors and we have shared some of our most special memories together on that terrace. It is a heartbreaking thing to come to terms with.
What this means for Vocal Booth Weekender.
You know that joke... "Too soon?" Well, it is too soon to be talking about plans for VBW. All I will say for now is... Keep some holiday at work and plan for the same kind of time next year. Maybe in November's newsletter I can offer some more information for you.

Whether you have stayed there or not, if you have enjoyed a VBW then that was due mainly to the hard work and commitment the hotel and their staff put in, year after year. I have mentioned to Mati that many people would be interested in some memorabilia of the hotel and be happy to offer something for it!
