Please free to attend the national call, the chapter meeting or (we hope) both.
Some highlights of this month's meeting:
  • Monthly Speaker: As we seek the common ground between Republicans and Democrats on climate solutions, Students for Carbon Dividends (S4CD) has emerged as an important ally in building support on college campuses for revenue-neutral carbon pricing. Alex Posner, President and Founder of S4CD, joins our October call to share about the work his organization is doing to bring Republicans on board and the growing movement of the EcoRight, especially among young conservatives. A speaker at CCL's June conference in 2018, Alex holds a BA in History from Yale University and is also a volunteer with Magicians Without Borders.
  • Lots of Action and Training Opportunities.
  • Breakout sessions:
    • New Members & Practice Monthly MOC Call.
    • Virtual Postcards:.Write them together!
    • CCL Community Tour: Learn about the great resources on CCL Community and how to find them.
    • Intro to Lobbying: Learn how CCL approaches lobbying, roles at a meeting, and consider signing up.
Here's the full draft agenda.  Please Note - It won't be final until Friday.
The Monthly Calling Campaign
Quick and Easy Advocacy
CCL's Monthly Calling Campaign is one of the simplest and most effective ways to encourage our Members of Congress to support H.R. 763.

You get a text one day a month, with the phone number to call, and simple scripts to choose from. You're done in minutes! No pressure!

We now have 89 members are signed up (for Blumenauer, Bonamici and Schrader)!
Please make those calls - They're quick and easy, and they make a difference!

It's OK if you don't call on the exact day.

Send a Virtual Postcard to Congress
Participate in this easy, fun and COVID-safe grassroots action to send Virtual Postcards to Members of Congress.

CCL has initiated a campaign to collect virtual postcards with members' photos and messages in support of H.R. 763, the Energy Innovation and Climate Dividend Act. They've provided this template with samples to make it easy. Portland CCL will collect your postcards and create a slide set to send to each Member of Congress.

Send your photo and 50-ish word testimonial about why you support H.R.763 to Francine, who will assemble it for delivery to Members of Congress. Encourage your friends and family to participate!
