Program Update

There were over 50 schools participating in our H ardCORE Apple and Pear Crunch Challenge this week.
Here are just a few highlights:

From Megan Gaul, Foodcorps Service Member:
"Goodwin school is a part of East Hartford School district.

We had a really fun time crunching our apples and a lot of delicious apples were enjoyed!"

From Norwalk Public Schools:
"We had fun with the activity books and other apple-related activities.

Students completed the HardCORE Activity worksheets, wrote poems, and participated in a virtual farm tour!

Foodcorps Service Members hosted an Apple and Grape Waldorf Salad taste test.

Activities were held at Celentano School and LW Beecher School in New Haven.

Green Village Initiative

A huge part of CT Grown for CT Kids Week is about uplifting local farmers and the work they are doing to connect schools with their products. Heart CT Grown hosted an interview with Catherine and Emily from Green Village Initiative at one of their program sites, Reservoir Community Farm.
