A couple of weekends ago Joy and I were riding thru the beautiful Tennessee countryside enjoying this incredible season of the year. We passed a lawn care company and noticed on the sign that it had Scripture as part of its logo. So, naturally, it made me think about what that Scripture had to do with a landscaping business. It was Isaiah 40:8.

Do you remember what it says? For the landscaper, it was chosen because it referred to grass and flowers, but it is a passage about the word of God.

In it, the prophet Isaiah said that the Word of God endures forever because of what it is: it is God’s Word.

He says, it endures because of what it says: it proclaims words of truth that are eternal.

He says, it endures because of what it does: it changes lives.

He says, it endures because of what it promises: it promises us eternal life with God.

Here is a word from the Word:

“The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

Have a great Wednesday!

Bruce
