LET THE DONOR BEWARE
Sadly, there are false and misleading fundraising events in addition to soliciting the sale of goods by suspicious individuals and organizations claiming to raise funds for the benefit of Artsakh. Many are legitimate, however we are reminding donors to donate to verified and accredited non-profit organizations.
In the United States, disclosure laws require nonprofit organizations to report financial and governance information to government agencies and to make that information available to the public. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which grants tax-exempt status to nonprofit organizations, enforces federal disclosure laws that are part of the tax codes.
|
|
|
A Corporate Matching Gift Program allows eligible donors to make non-profit donations, and have their employer double or even triple your gift. While non-profits receive generous funds, participating companies also benefit by enhancing their reputation with corporate philanthropy. The best starting point would be to make inquiries into your company's Human Resources Department.
|
|
There are many well-established and reputable organizations accepting monetary donations on behalf of Artsakh. In an effort to consolidate and streamline the donation and distribution of funds process, The Government of the Artsakh Republic has authorized their Ministry of Finance, and Hyastan All Armenian Fund / Armenia Fund as official donation repositories.
For U.S. tax deductible contributions, it is recommended that
Armenia Fund be your primary donation source.
- Check and Credit Cards accepted
- If you are making a large donation (in excess of $5,000), and to ensure that the full amount of your donation is received, Armenia Fund encourages mailing a check to avoid the 2.5% credit card processing fee they will incur which reduces the actual amount of your intended donation

If you made a donation via credit card to Hyastan All Armenian Fund (Himnadram),
and the charge is not appearing in your transaction history, contact your credit card
company as they may have deemed the charge to be suspicious or unusual activity
and placed a hold or block on your card.
If you are a United States resident, and wish to make a donation via credit card, it is
best to make a tax-decuctible donation to Armenia Fund.

We have received an extensive list of items needed from the Stepanakert Hospital (as of 9/28/20). Pages 1 - 7 are in English. Pages 8 - 14 are in Armenian. The Armenian American Health Professionals Organization (AAHPO) is in possession of this list as well, contact them with any questions and medical equipment and supplies donations.
