Bethesda Green Awarded PEPCO Sustainability Grant
Bethesda Green has been awarded a grant of $10,000 from PEPCO, administered by the Rock Creek Conservancy to install a series of rain gardens or bioretention cells in existing medians and impervious areas throughout Bethesda. As Bethesda’s population grows, pollution and flooding risks from a lack of stormwater management becomes a more significant risk for our community. We’ll be getting to work right away on plans for the rain garden installation and will have the project completed next year!

Spring Power & Gas Steps Up for Bethesda Green
Spring Power & Gas, operating in Maryland and neighboring states, has sponsored Bethesda Green again this year, supporting both our local rain garden installation project and our Environmental Leaders Program. In announcing their grant award, Richard Booth, Spring Power & Gas President of Retail Operations, said, “Teaching our youth about sustainability will provide them the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions, plan for the future, and maintain a healthier planet.” This is the second year in a row that the company has invested in our Environmental Leaders.
