Pedestrian Safety

  • Eyes up. Look both ways before crossing the street. 
  • Remove distractions. Don't look at your phone and remove headphones.
  • Cross only at marked crosswalks.
  • At night, be bright. Wear bright clothes or use a flashlight to be seen.

In the City of Pittsburgh, it is illegal to be on a rooftop. If you have a rooftop maintenance issue that needs to be addressed, please contact your landlord to have it fixed.

Report a Traffic Concern
  1. Download and open the Rave Guardian app on your smartphone.
  2. Click "Send a Tip."
  3. Scroll through the list of options and select "Traffic Issues/Safety Concern."
  4. Type your message.
  5. Submit the message. This will go directly to the Pitt Police dispatch center. You can also call 412-624-2121 with a concern.

Dr. Jay E. Darr (Dr. Jay), Director of the University Counseling Center (UCC), would like to invite you to a “Let’s Chat” virtual session. These small-group, hour-long, video discussion sessions will provide the opportunity to learn and inquire about mental health resources and how you can be instrumental in supporting your student’s well-being.
