This week Sabbath on October 10  at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, we are blessed to have the General Conference Associate Youth Director with us via Zoom.
Pastor Pako Edson Mokgwane, originally from Botswana, is a powerful and spirit-filled preacher who loves to empower youth to serve.
Our Youth Empowerment Weekend will focus on the theme, “Unbreakable.”

Pastor Matthew Feeley originally from Toronto. Having had a traumatic experience that changed his life in high school,  Pastor Feeley answered the call to pastoral ministry and has been sharing his personal testimony around the world.

Youth Empowerment Weekend, December 5, 2020


On December 5, 2020, we are blessed to have Pastor Ron Sydney. He grew up in St. Lucia. He was called to ministry at a young age. He answered the call and went to study Theology at Canadian University College. After graduating he was called to pastor the Ephesus and Richland Churches. It wasn’t too long after his successful ministry that Pastor Ron was called to pastor the 24/7 church in Seattle Washington. Currently, Pastor Ron is serving as the lead pastor for two churches in the Detroit area, Pontiac Southside and Detroit Center. Pastor Ron loves preaching and loves sharing inspiring messages to young people. His raw authentic and transparent style allows hearers to engage with him and connect with him on another level. 
Our Youth Empowerment Weekend will focus on the theme, “Unshackled.” Join us at 11:30 AM for an empowering message from Pastor Ron and an open conversation at 4:00 PM!

It Is Written Online Series Answers in Prophecy to Begin Oct. 9

UNITED STATES | OCTOBER 5, 2020

Answers in Prophecy is an exciting, new virtual evangelism event from It Is Written. Starting October 9, Pastor John Bradshaw, president of It Is Written, will examine what ancient Bible prophecies say about current world events.
Pastor Joseph T. Ikner II of the Central States Conference will host the event. October is Clergy/Pastor Appreciation Month. What can you do to show appreciation? Indeed, Clergy Appreciation Month goes beyond showing appreciation for the pastor. Orange Shirt Day is a day when we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. Andrews University Releases One-of-a-kind Bible Study Journal on Daniel and Revelation

UNITED STATES | ANDREWS UNIVERSITY AND ADVENTIST REVIEW     OCTOBER 7, 2020

Andrews University recently released a small book, in the form of a study journal, containing only the biblical books of Daniel and Revelation, as well as study notes. The Great Prophetic Books of Daniel and Revelation: A Bible Study Journal became officially available to customers on September 1, 2020. Creation Sabbath is Coming!


Creation Sabbath is a special time of celebration! A chance to rejoice, praise, and rest with God as we enjoy the creation He made. The Seventh-day Adventist Church designated the fourth Sabbath in October as Creation Sabbath. This annual celebration is “acknowledging God as our Creator and the implications that this biblical teaching has for us.

Guide Magazine Publishes a Special Sharing Issue on the State of the Dead


Guide magazine has produced "Death’s Doom," a 16-page outreach magazine for readers ages 10-14 that uses Guide’s famous storytelling technique along with related sidebars to help kids understand the biblical view of death and the hope we have in a future resurrection. ADRA Challenges and Opportunities


2020 has been a year of unique challenges and opportunities. During these difficult and uncertain times, ADRA Canada has partnered with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada, Adventist Community Services – North American Division, the local Canadian conferences and mission, and our faithful donors, to support food banks and other organizations who are helping people in need from coast to coast to coast. Adventist Surgeon Leads Double Lung Transplant of Post-COVID-19 Patient

A medical team led by a Seventh-day Adventist surgeon recently performed the first successful simultaneous bilateral lung transplant in a post-COVID-19 patient in Monterrey, Mexico. The seven-hour surgery became the first of its kind in Latin America and the seventh performed in the world. Best Practices for Online Children’s Ministries

The Children’s Ministries Department of the Alberta Conference is excited to partner with Prairie Adventist eSchool (PACeS) to offer two sessions to improve your virtual ministries for young children. As the COVID pandemic continues to challenge churches and especially children's ministries to engage their members, we’re blessed to have a team of national experts in online children’s instruction right here in the Alberta Conference. The PACeS staff are excited to pass on their experience and ideas for using Zoom to engage your young children in church programs and Sabbath Schools. So, if you work in your church's Children's Ministries or Children's Sabbath School departments, please consider joining us on Monday, October 19 and Monday, October 26 at 7 pm for two one-hour sessions.

Sessions will be taught by professional Adventist children’s educators with plenty of time for Q&A and practicing these concepts yourself. If you’re involved in ministering to younger children online, you won’t want to miss this event. Please register at www.albertaadventist.ca/ChM2020

SAGE Announcement


SAGE keeps hoping and planning for the resumption of our regular programs. However, the SAGE Fall Retreat planned at Foothills Camp, November 5-8, has to be cancelled.  The facility is currently closed and the speaker will not be able to commit to that time.
