The City of Los Angeles' Bureau of Street Lighting is seeking contractors with a C-10 and/or A Class license (held for a minimum of one year) to provide construction of pedestrian streetlight poles at bus stops in various locations within the City of Los Angeles.

Sharon and Willie PhillipsEstablished in 1992 by husband and wife team Willie and Sharon Phillips, V.T.P., Inc. holds a C-15 license specializing in Flooring and Floor Coverings Maintenance.  

Originally from Louisiana, CEO Willie Phillips has been in the flooring trade for 48 years. "I was walking around town, looking for work when I came across a 'Help Wanted' sign in the window of a floor covering store," explains Willie, "The starting pay back then was $1.65 per hour." Willie worked hard and was very organized. In 1981, he was a subcontractor for three prime contractors, running the labor division for their companies. Two of the contractors were very successful African-American businessmen, which helped bolster Willie's confidence that he too could go into business for himself.  Read more...

Department of Water & Power

LADWP suspended in-person public bid openings, the hand-delivery of bids, and in-person Pre-Bid meetings to reduce the number of people coming into LADWP facilities and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Until further notice, LADWP is not accepting hand-delivered bids; all bids must be sent to LADWP by mail, allowing enough time to be delivered at the VLC by the due date. All submittals will be time-stamped at the VLC public counter as soon as they are received. Bids received after the due date and time may be deemed non-responsive and excluded from consideration.

All Bid openings are being conducted online only, using WebEx, which requires a computer with internet access and a separate telephone line. LADWP will hold public bid openings via WebEx starting at 2:00 p.m. on the date each bid closes.
