Families and Visitors are NOT allowed in building
From Ms. Kramer

Dear Community of Saints Families,

Last week you should have received an email from your K-8 student(s)' classroom teacher containing a link to a survey.  We hope that you will take 5 minutes to complete the survey form and provide feedback for each of your students' experiences thus far this school year.  We are asking for one to be completed for each of your students so we can obtain classroom and age specific feedback.  Your family's experience matters to us, and as we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times, your partnership is more important now than ever before.

School Calendar and Opt-In Form: Please be sure to review the calendar above-it occurred to me that the old calendar has been the one in the newsletter the last few weeks-I am sorry about that!  Above is the updated one--and please note that next week, there is no school Wednesday, October 14th-Friday, October 16th.  Wednesday our staff will have a day packed with professional development, including our work with STEM implementation, MAP testing results, family survey results and data driven instructional planning and pacing.

Also, you will see above our Opt-In for In-Person Learning form for families with one or more students currently in full distance learning.  This form is due by Tuesday, October13th.  This is a hard deadline as it will impact our planning and preparation for when students return on Monday, October 19th.

Roof Repair

As you have observed during car drop off and pick up, our roof repair continues.  We are doing everything we can to not disrupt the learning environment as the work is completed.  The outcome will be no more leaks and water damage--so the small sacrifices we are making now to complete the work before winter, are DEFINITELY worth the finished product!  This project is being funded by generous supporters who specifically contributed toward the purchase of our property and completion of major capital repairs and improvements.

Daily Screening: A reminder that our families are required to screen each of their students at home before leaving to school.  Below is helpful information to guide families on screening their students and when to keep them home, etc.

A Guide for Families for School Attendance HERE

When students arrive to school, they will be screened again by COS staff--this will occur while students are still in the vehicle and before walkers enter the building.  Bus riders will be screened before loading onto their bus, and won't be screened upon entry into school unless staff observes new symptoms.  Students and staff who do not pass morning screenings will not be allowed into the building.

Another screening will occur midday.  Any students who do not pass the screening will be further observed by office staff, and families will be contacted to pick up their student right away.  Students will not be allowed to return until they have consulted with one of our designated COVID contacts: Ms. Kramer, Mrs. Lopez and/or Mr. Yannarelly.

It is ESSENTIAL that we all commit to these procedures and practices--our goal is to have in person learning offered for as many days as possible this school year, and the most important variable in achieving this is by individual social responsibility.
