What to expect the week of October 12
We are currently working in all three zones at the same time, from north to south on Delridge Way SW. As our work zones shift you will see No Parking signs go up towards the southern end of the work zone and parking restored in the northern end of the work zone.
In each of the three work zones, travel lanes will be generally be reduced to one lane in each direction with restricted turns and from time to time you may expect flaggers to be operating one lane at a time. Please follow posted traffic signs.

People traveling on Delridge Way SW will still be able to travel north and south past this intersection
People traveling to Delridge Way SW from the closed area will need to detour to SW Andover St via 21st Ave SW
Please refer to the King County Metro website for Metro bus detour routes for this closure
Pipework scheduled to begin next week near SW Juneau St
This work requires us to dig deep in the ground. Please anticipate noise, dust, and vibrations.
Intermittent, temporary water shut-offs may occur for select properties in late October. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will coordinate timing and residents will be notified in advance.
Driveways may be closed temporarily as crews complete this work. Residents will be notified in advance of any closures.

Other project updates
Watch: Community meeting about adjacent Delridge Neighborhood Greenway
A community meeting was held on Wednesday, October 7 to collect input on the diverters originally planned on 26th Ave SW at SW Brandon St and SW Genesee St. If you couldn't attend the meeting, you can watch a recording here.
REMINDER: A survey to collect feedback on the diverters will remain open through OCtober 14. Learn more on our webpage.
Clarification: Roadway redesign near the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center at SW Genesee St
Last week, we shared an update on the roadway design near the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in order to preserve several trees along the corridor. This redesign is not an overall reduction of the number of traffic lanes but rather a lane width reduction to allow for the trees to remain in place. Lanes will be 10.5 feet wide instead of the original 12 feet wide. The design also includes a reduction in the size of the planted median. Additionally, we were able to extend the curb next to the trees even further than previously, which is better for tree health.
Ongoing closures and work
Ongoing major pipework near SW Brandon St
Pipe testing for this work will begin as early as October 13 and will last through the end of the week. There are no anticipated interruptions to service as a result of this work.
Final pipe connections will take place in late October and will take approximately one day to complete
This work requires us to dig deep in the ground. Please anticipate noise, dust, and vibrations.
Continued temporary driveway impacts and closures throughout Zones A, B, and C during roadway and sidewalk upgrades
Expect intermittent impacts to driveway access. Residents will be notified in advance of any driveway closures.
We will work our way south in each section and may flip sides on Delridge Way SW. Please continue reading for more details.
Anticipated schedule changes due to wet weather this year This fall, we will continue demolishing and repaving the roadway, driveways and sidewalks throughout the project corridor. Due to the wet weather, we may need to make last minute schedule changes to paving activities which may include delaying paving activities or starting concrete paving pours as the weather allows.
As a reminder, we aim to maintain access to driveways during demolition, which can last between 1 to 2 weeks in each area. If weather allows, paving will follow and typically require driveway closures for up to 1 week. Continue reading to learn more about our demolition and paving work zones and schedule.
Please plan for these schedule changes and reach out to us if you have any accessibility concerns during this work. You can learn more about typical paving impacts at the bottom of this email. Thank you for your patience during construction.
Our schedule is subject to change. Please sign up for our text message updates by texting DELRIDGE to 33222 to receive the most up to date information on night work and closures.
