DRIVER’S INSIGHTS

Driver's stands with No Bully

We are proud to partner with No Bully during the month of October - National Bullying Prevention Month - and help spread the word about the San Francisco-based non-profit’s important work.

As part of our partnership, we are fundraising for No Bully at the Market, and we invite the community to their October programming. Learn more about No Bully and their strategies to bring awareness to bullying in the United States.

MARKET SPOTLIGHT

Chantelle's Granola

One morning Chantelle Cheng treated her mom Sally to a beautiful breakfast of freshly made granola. Sally loved it! They knew Chantelle, a nutritional chef, had created a great recipe, and they were inspired to share it with the world. The mother-and-daughter team launched Chantelle’s, at first with Chantelle in California, and Sally in Hong Kong. When Sally relocated to Marin, the business took off as a farmer’s market favorite -- and is now available at Driver’s! Locally made in Muir Beach.

Saltroot Bakery

Juliana and John came to Marin from Brazil in 2015, excited to introduce Saltroot Bakery to a new community. Their business philosophy values fair trade and sustainable practices: set a good example, and minimize waste! Saltroot’s Brazilian popovers are based on an authentic, naturally gluten free pão de queijo recipe (pronounced "pow de KAY joe",) and are made with cassava flour, cheese, and not much else. The versatile pastries are best hot out of the oven, and traditionally paired with jams and chutneys, or served with soup or wine.

Did you know nearly half of transgender youth have been bullied on school property? The data shows that LGBTQ+ youth are vulnerable to bullying, violence, and suicide. In fact, LGBTQ+ youth are more likely to be bullied than their straight, cisgender counterparts, according to a recent CDC study.
