A new work directed by Kok Heng Leun
Devised with ITI's 2020 graduating cohort
How does it feel to be cut off from regular human contact?
What happens to a mind and body which can only connect with others virtually?
What does it mean to be an artist in this “new” world?
Kok Heng Leun, Artistic Director of Drama Box, directs ITI’s graduating cohort of actor-students in FIVE, an intimate and evocative piece about isolation.
Created in collaboration with a creative team of Singapore’s leading artists, FIVE weaves together the cast’s original works and stories into a hybrid performance that synchronises physical and virtual theatre. Livestreamed from Esplanade Theatre Studio, FIVE is an exploration of the experiences of solitude and separation.
Performed mainly in English with some Malay, Mandarin, Malayalam and Korean. Surtitles will be available.
There will be an online talkback session with the artists on
17 November (Tuesday), 8pm.
