Dear Junior Church families,

On Sunday, November 1 the church celebrates All Saints Day, the day after All Hallows’ Eve.  You are invited to join me on Zoom for a family service at 5 p.m.

We will follow the Service for Young People found on page 622 of the Book of Common Prayer. This short service – which includes Bible readings, Psalms and collects – is a great introduction to the language and form of the BCP. We will make it interactive and informal. All family members are invited to attend. If your child(ren) would like to lead one of the readings please get in touch as soon as possible or let me know when you join the call.

This opportunity to gather came out of a meeting of parents a few weeks ago, as well as the survey, and it is one of many activities we will be putting together to support Junior Church families through Advent and Christmas. (See below!)

To participate in the Sunday service please email me and I will send you the Zoom link.

Blessings,

Coming up: Advent Wreaths and Nativity Play!
Every Sunday during Advent, Junior Church students help light the Advent wreath at the front of the church. This year we’re inviting you to light a candle each Sunday with your own wreath at home. We’ll supply the candles, the candle holder and the readings, and you can add a wreath or any other decor to the wooden base (made from reclaimed church wood). These kits will be ready for pick-up at the church in November, or can be delivered to you (and may be revealed at the Family Service November 1!).
We are planning to work together on a video presentation of our annual Nativity Play! Martha and team are working hard on a script and you will be contacted soon to ask if your child(ren) will be able to participate. Camera shy? No problem! There will be ways for everyone to get involved. Scenes will be recorded at home as well as at the church, likely outside, and using physical distancing and face masks when required. If your child(ren) are interested in participating, please let Martha or Janice Douglas know!
Online Junior Church lessons
Each week Martha creates activities related to the weekly reading and we post them on our website. These are ideal for any time of the week. Check them out, as well as the awesome Teach Us To Pray videos, at
