This Week's Reflection
Week 5
The Gospel
Hope for True Unity
  • Did God show us justice or mercy in saving us?  How does knowing we’re cleansed from all unrighteousness – pride, prejudice, ignorance, selfishness, bitterness, etc. bring freedom?
  • God has prepared good works for Christ-followers to do.  How does knowing that there are things specifically for you to do give you confidence to act?  Have you asked God how you can play a role in racial reconciliation and justice?
  • We commonly hear about racial reconciliation as something to achieved but according to the verses (Ephesians 2:4-22), Christ already achieved the believer’s reconciliation to himself and to each other.  Like any relationship, that doesn’t mean there’s never a need for forgiveness and growth. Are there steps we need to take to live out the reconciliation he’s already accomplished on the cross?
  • Our identities such as ethnicity, gender, age, occupation, are all part of God’s beauty in creating us.  However, in Christ they become secondary to our primary identity as God’s adopted child.  Are your other identities subject to your identity in Christ?  How can focusing on your identity in Christ help you in unity with others?
