I know...I know. I just sent you an email about a new book.
But, you see, I haven't exactly been sitting around playing with puppies for the past two years, even though it may have looked like it. Okay, okay! Maybe I was mostly playing with puppies, but I did get some writing done! I have proof! *points to the book cover while hiding my cellphone full of puppy pics* I really was busy writing a trilogy with my friend, Saffron Hart.
It started in messenger. As all awesome conversations do. And somehow–I don't remember how? Wine maybe?–we came up with the idea to write a book about a Catholic deacon and the gargoyle brooding on top of his church. After we stopping giggling, we quickly realized that to do their love story justice, one book wouldn't be enough.
Tada! The Cloth & Stone Trilogy was born.
Like I mentioned in a previous newsletter, we also discovered that Saffron and I have very different writing styles. I'm a plot-everything-to-the-last-detail type of writer and Saffron is a have-a-vague-idea-and-go-from-there type of writer. Because of our different approaches, we decided to hold onto each book as it was written until we reached the end, just to make sure we didn't change our minds about anything.
Boy, was that a wise decision!
But it worked out to your benefit, too! Book 1 and book 2 both end on pretty strong cliffhangers, and it would have sucked for you to have to wait on us to finish the next book. However, since we've already written the whole thing, we can release the trilogy rapidly (book 1 - Nov 3rd, book 2 - Nov 13, and book 3- Dec 1th), so you won't have long to wait in order to find out what happens next. Just keep in mind that you need to read these books in order–Taking His Confession, Serving His Penance, and lastly Granting His Absolution.

One thing I will promise you, though, is no matter how ugly things look for Gideon and Cordero, they will get their happily ever after before it's all over. That's just the way Saffron and I roll. So, head on over to Amazon and grab Serving His Penance. I'll wait here while you read it. (Seriously, I'm probably staring at my KU dashboard right now, trying to figure out how many people are reading the book.)
