Join the Conversation: Thursday

Do you work with local government as staff, a stewardship group, or as partners in protection of the natural environment? Are you an elected councillor or director? Then don't miss this upcoming free webinar on Thursday (Oct 29th), hosted by the Comox Valley Conservation Partnership.

Join conversation with experts Deborah Curran (University of Victoria, Environmental Law Centre) and Erin Gray (Arbutus Law Group LLP).

The conversation will explore how Development Permit Areas for Protection of the Natural Environment (EDPAs) can provide specific standards to support our decision-makers to further prioritize and protect ecologically sensitive areas in our current climate crisis.

The presenters will share knowledge and local examples, as well as offer an opportunity for questions and answers.

Click here to register for this FREE online event, open to the public.

Introducing our New Coordinator

The CDFCP is pleased to introduce a new coordinator, Kelly Chapman.

Thanks to the Canada Nature Fund's Priority Places initiative and the Real Estate Foundation of BC, Kelly has been hired as the new CDFCP Coordinator on a part-time, temporary basis.

Kelly brings 30 years of conservation experience to the table, having worked as a biologist, environmental planner and facilitator on a wide range of projects in Western Canada, Australia and Africa.  She aims to build on Theo Clitherow's good work on CDFCP communications and support.

Kelly can be reached at coordinator@cdfcp.ca.
