Hello <<First Name>>

The Queer Tarot Project is featured on CBC Arts news today!  Finally published this sweet little mini doc tells you a little more about me and how I came to be creating this Queer Tarot Deck.

My imposter syndrome is kicking in hard, so I'm trying to just sit with feeling proud of the fact this is done and out there - and to let go of "Could I have said that better?" or thinking how I've learned and grown since this was filmed (pre-pandemic!) Click below to watch and keep scrolling down as I've Tarot Deck to give away!!

Queer TAROT DECK GIVEAWAY!

Thanks so much for visiting the Queer Tarot Project! I am VERY excited to have this deck and a large number of others to give away.  We last gave away The Slow Holler tarot – another beautiful queer deck, now this time the This Might Hurt The cards are thick and durable, with iridescent edges, the pastel colours of the card hight light a lovely array of characters, races, personalities and bodies.

I have a number of other Queer Tarot decks by other Tarot artists who also also embrace queerness and diversity in tarot to give away in future – I’m really excited about sharing them with you.

Keeping time-honored symbolism and imagery, but losing the medieval context, this the This Might Hurt Tarot Deck is designed to be both easy to read and highly relatable. Clothing and scenery are modernized, diversity is embraced, and queerness is lovingly acknowledged.

We appreciate you entering this give-away, not only to support this project, our youtube, and the artist who created the This Might Hurt Tarot deck.  ENTER HERE and please share with your friends xxx thank you!

NEW QUEER TAROT - The 7 of Wands
I’m just so bored with the Hero’s Journey. I feel nauseous about it, personally and culturally nauseous about it. One person going to do the things, and do the hard thing, and fighting off the things, and then coming back a hero. It’s not working, it’s a narrative that needs to be doneThe age of the guru is over, of individualism. White supremacy has a tendency to say, ‘Who’s the one person". I’ve had some experience of community, but definitely not how I was raised, or how I spent my 20’s or 30’s.

NEW QUEER TAROT - The Page of Cups
I think queer tarot is exactly what not only queer witches need to have in their lives but what the rest of the witchy community needs to see. For me, one of the reasons it took me a while to get into tarot is that everything is presented very on the binary. The court cards and a lot of the symbols.  Symbolism of tarot decks is read in a masculine or a feminine way. That to me seems, has always seemed really reductive and not applicable to everyone: Read the rest of the interview here.
NEW QUEER TAROT - The Nine of Swords
I felt like the message in the Nine of Swords – aligned with my personal experience: of someone who has struggled with depression their entire life. The actual card as you know is really dark. I wanted to reimagine it a lot more bright and dreamy. And so I just wanted to remind people that depression doesn’t always look the way you want it to look, or the way that it’s often portrayed (as rain clouds). I mean yeah, it definitely does not feel fun. But I feel like we demonize it to the point where it often looks very dark and vicious and like a monster.. Read more here.

The queer tarot project:

There's 10 cards left to photograph! Check out which ones are left https://queertarot.cards/queer-tarot-cards-interpretations-meanings/

Please get in contact with me regarding creating a tarot card together - I'm looking to shoot QPOC first, and if you are in Canada, that helps.  Other places I will get to eventually, but probably on the second edition of this deck.  If you have your own photographer there is a brief I can share if you want to create this and submit it to the project!
