AAU NEWS: Issue 84

Secretary General's Message

Dear Colleagues

I bring you greetings from the Association of African Universities (AAU). In this edition of the AAU Newsletter, i wish to appreciate all our stakeholders who actively participated in the African Universities' Week Celebrations which took place from November 9-13, 2020 and made it a huge success.

I am also pleased to announce that the AAU, in partnership with Warwick Employment Group (WEG) and Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA) will be holding a virtual launch of the African Jobs Board Platform on 10th December 2020, and invite you to participate in this event. This platform is being developed as a standalone website to support recruitment and academic mobility in African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The African Jobs Board seeks to develop an African Jobs Board which will serve as a hub for academic and non-academic jobs at Universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Africa. It will also feature PhD opportunities, Career advice pages and Profiles of African countries.

Target Audience

The launch is designed for Vice Chancellors, University Managers including Registrars, Deans and Directors of Institutes, Heads of Departments, Administrators, Human Resource and Finance Managers. The AAU kindly requests that at least three (3) staff from each institution be allowed to participate in this launch, which is a free event.  Interested participants may register online at https://tinyurl.com/JobsBoardLaunch

I also hope that you will enjoy the selection of news, opportunities and other important information included below.

Yours in the service of higher education in Africa
