Class of 2020...

#yougotthis

2020 has been tough to say the least. It’s not what any of us expected or wanted, but we’re in it. And you need to know we’re in it together.

As our Year 11 and 12 students prepare for end of year exams, #yougotthis want all of our students to know that you’ve done a great job so far and everyone’s got your back.

#yougotthis, an initiative of DrinkWise, is a collection of uplifting short videos from some well-known Aussies. The videos are targeting NSW students but the messages are the same thtroughout the country. They feature their own personal tips for studying, managing stress and ‘game-day’ anxiety.

Managing social anxiety as life returns to ‘new normal’

By Beyond Blue

For people who experience social anxiety, the return to ‘normal’ life after lockdown may feel challenging. Here are four steps to help manage social anxiety in the moment.

With many places opening back up after lockdown, many people are enjoying life going back to ‘normal’ (albeit a ‘new normal’). But this isn’t the case for everyone.

For those who experience social anxiety, the lockdown period may have brought reprieve from daily face-to-face interactions, and the thought of going back into the wider community post-pandemic may feel hard.

Social anxiety – or social phobia – isn’t just about being a bit nervous or uncomfortable around others, it's a mental and physical battle.

What does your friendships look like?

A childrens competition by Latrobe City Council celebrating National Children's Week

Children’s Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. The 2020 theme is to celebrate the right of all children to choose their own friends and safely connect with others.

The Latrobe City Council is inviting local children to celebrate by drawing their friendships and submitting for a chance to win some great prizes supporting local businesses as they are able to re-open.

First and second prizes will be awarded in three categories; under 5 years, 5-8 years of age and 9-12 years. Special judges from Latrobe Regional Gallery will award prizes for the most creative entries celebrating friendships.
