If you are interested in volunteering, please register to volunteer and complete the volunteer-waiver form below.
Additionally, show up safely! Clean-up supplies will be provided onsite. To safely participate in the clean-up, please be sure to:
- Wear a face mask/covering (required at all times; supplies are limited, please bring your own!)
- Stick to a group of 50 people or less and consciously practicing physical distancing
- Wear protective gloves and avoiding hazardous materials like glass and needles
- Review the full Volunteer Safety Guidelines prior to your cleanup
- Stay home if you are feeling unwell or exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms at the time of your clean-up— no need to alert Gompers Park Advisory Council.

Chicago's Travel Quarantine List

The City of Chicago's Emergency Travel Order directs travelers entering or returning to Chicago from states experiencing a surge in new COVID-19 cases to quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of the last contact within the identified state.
As of October 20th, Travelers from the following states and territories should quarantine upon arrival in Chicago:

Monthly Nonmetered Utility Billing Update
|
|
Effective December 1, 2020, nonmetered utility billing will be switched from a semi-annual to a monthly basis. Monthly billing will provide customers with a smaller monthly bill which can be more easily budgeted.
- Your overall bill amount is not increasing due to this change.
- The monthly bill may vary slightly from one-sixth of your semi-annual bill due to rate changes and other charges, such as penalties for late payment.
Every month, starting in December, you will receive a bill for the previous month of service. In December, you will receive a bill for the November service period. In January, you will receive a bill for the December service period, and so forth. You will still have 21 days to pay after the bill date.
If you have enrolled in AutoPay, you don’t need to take any action. The payments will be switched to the monthly schedule automatically. If you haven’t enrolled in AutoPay, this is an opportunity to do so. Visit www.chicago.gov/utilitybill and click on the Online Utility Billing Portal link to get started.

The Office of Inspector General's Audit and Program Review 2021 Draft Plan Survey seeks your input regarding concerns about the economy, effectiveness, efficiency, and integrity of City programs and your priorities for improvement. Your opinions will help inform and prioritize which projects appear on the 2021 Audit Plan.

Chicago voters can now apply to Vote By Mail for the November 3rd, 2020, General Election. Apply for a Vote By Mail ballot through 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 29th, 2020.
If you have already applied to Vote By Mail and prefer to go in person, there will be drop off boxes for Vote-By-Mail ballots at all early voting locations.

There's a new option for Vote By Mail voters! Submit your Ballot Return Envelopes at any of the Chicago Election Board's Secured Drop Boxes. Chicago voters may use any Secured Drop Box in the City.
Please note: Whether you use the US mail or a Drop Box, you must use the signed and sealed Ballot Return Envelope with your name on it to submit your ballot.

October: Free Museum Days

Through the month of October, Shedd Aquarium is offering free admission to Illinois residents on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Tickets must be secured ahead of a visit. To reserve tickets, visit the Shedd’s website or call the Shedd at 312.939.2438. Free admission will not be granted to guests who walk up without a reservation.

Business Interruption Grant (BIG) Funds
|
|
A $220 million second round of BIG aims to provide relief for small businesses. This round focuses on businesses downstate, in disproportionately impacted areas, and on heavily impacted industries and regions.
This program runs state-wide and is a lottery. All business types are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling, on-going basis until funds are depleted, so apply now!
