I hope… We often use that phrase to indicate wishful thinking or some anticipated positive result. For Christians, however, hope has a deeper meaning based on our relationship with Jesus Christ. For Christians, hope is choosing to believe and act as if the future, in some meaningful sense, will be better than the present (from Rev. Adam Hamilton, UM Church of the Resurrection), because God is working ...in the world, ...and in us, ...and through us.  We have hope because our God is faithful, generous, and actively involved!  God calls us to be faithful and generous, too, as we work to bring hope - and a better future  - to our community.
Listen as Donna Giesler shares some of the meaningful connections,
she finds First Church and her commitment to our message of hope.
This week, the Estimate of Giving information was sent by e-mail and regular mail to our church family. We invite you prayerfully to consider what God is calling you to give and then complete and return the form by Sunday, November 8, when we will consecrate the gifts in worship. If you have not received the information, please contact the church office.
Our hope is in the Lord!
