Share the holiday moments
with those you love.

The holidays are a great time for reconnecting with friends and family. Connect seamlessly this season with:
  • MORE movie nights
  • MORE fun
  • MORE memories
This holiday season, what could be better than snuggling under a warm blanket with a mug of hot chocolate to stream your favorite Christmas movies—and maybe find a new one to add to your list? We’ve picked three of our favorites and where you can find them this holiday season.

Christmas Classic
Our choice for a Christmas classic is It’s a Wonderful Life. Considered by many to be one of the best films of all time, this fantasy tells the story of George Bailey, a man who meets his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody. In this heartwarming film, Clarence shows George how different the world might have been if George had not been born.
You can stream It’s a Wonderful Life now on Amazon Prime.

Christmas Contemporary
Brand new for this year is Holidate, a new romantic comedy that brings two strangers together to be each other’s platonic date at holiday celebrations throughout the year—only to discover (spoiler alert) they’ve developed feelings for each other.
You can stream Holidate now on Netflix.

Animated Christmas Classic
What would the season feel like without having A Charlie Brown Christmas to watch? First broadcast in 1965, Charlie Brown directs the Christmas pageant, rescues a small tree, and Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas. This classic is a perennial favorite.
A Charlie Brown Christmas will be streaming exclusively on Apple TV Plus starting December 4th and can be watched for free from December 11th through December 13th.

5 Tips to protect your home this holiday season.

It’s a wonderful time of year! The joys of shopping, getting together with family and friends whether virtually or in-person, and sharing gifts brings a warmth to the season regardless of the wintry weather. Unfortunately, home burglaries can spike by as much as 22% over the holidays—due in large part to all that shopping and sharing of gifts.
That’s why we’ve put together a few tips to help you embrace a new home safety philosophy best summed up by the phrase, “If you want to practice burglary deterrence, you need to take steps before a burglary occurs.”

December Tips
  1. Keep your curtains and blinds closed, particularly when you’re not at home, to prevent thieves from taking inventory of your personal belongings and seeing the layout of your home.
  2. Avoid posting about out-of-town vacations on social media.
  3. Use outdoor lighting to keep your property well-lit, but don’t keep them on 24/7. The same goes for indoor lighting. Burglars will quickly catch on if the lighting never changes.
  4. After the holidays, be sure to break down the boxes for expensive items you received—it doesn’t pay to advertise that you’ve got a brand new Ultra HD TV or the latest video game console mere steps away.
  5. Consider getting a Smart Home system. Homes without Smart Home security systems are two to three times more likely to be broken into.
The safety and protection of your family and home is important, and you may want to leave it to security professionals. Call today for a free, no-obligation quote!

Smithville employees made the holiday season brighter by purchasing toys and clothing for 25 area children through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.

The initiative was sponsored by the Smithville Engaged team, a group of employees working to encourage engagement between employees and the communities we serve. This is another way employees are able to work together and give back to those in our communities.
