Pick your candidates
There are two types of people — those who know exactly who’s getting their vote and those who still haven’t researched who’s running. Both are okay. If you fall in the latter category, here’s a breakdown of local + state candidates on the ballot. If you fall in the former category, a refresher never hurt anyone.
Find your polling location
Before you get to your polling place + wait in line to cast a vote, make sure you’re registered.
Charleston County polling places will be open on Tues., Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, your polling location could have changed, so even if you think you know where to go, triple check. All you have to do is put in some personal information here (last name, last four digits of social security number, birthday), and you’ll be directed to a page with your voting information, including your polling place.

The CDC has recommended steps to take before + when voting in person:
○ Check your voting location and requirements in advance — they may have changed due to COVID-19.
○ Verify your voter registration information is correct in advance.
○ Make sure you have all necessary documents to avoid delays.
○ If possible, complete any registration forms prior to arriving at the polling location.
○ Review or complete a sample ballot at home to speed the process of casting your ballot.
Making sure your voice is heard is a pretty cool thing to do, and the best way to do that is through voting.

○ The South Carolina Coalition for Voter Participation will be providing free transportation to polling locations for voters in Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester + Georgetown counties on Election Day (Tues., Nov. 3). For transportation, call 833-348-7350 as soon as possible. Rides will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (WCSC)
Development
○ Designs for the $8.7 million improvements + widening of Coleman Boulevard at the Patriots Point Gateway in Mount Pleasant are almost complete. Plans include the widening + addition of several turn lanes. Construction is slated to begin April 2021 and go through the end of the year. (Moultrie News)

○ Dominion Energy is warning South Carolina residents about scam calls that target vulnerable community members during times of crisis. The company advises to look out for phone calls that include aggressive threats, requests for immediate over-the-phone payments and/or requests for personal information. ○ Summerville D.R.E.A.M – an outdoor ice skating rink located at 130 E 2nd N St. – announced plans to return for its 2020 season.
