Canon Reyes' role shifts at diocese

Beginning October 1, Canon Jesus Reyes’ duties with the diocese have shifted. Due to an expected restructuring of staff and unexpected financial stresses attributed to COVID, Canon Jesus will serve as part-time Canon for Mission for the diocese and as part-time Priest-in-Charge at St. George’s, Salinas. He will serve in these positions through the end of this year.

A message from Canon Brian Nordwick

On behalf of Sarah, Willow, my family and myself, we want to thank you for all your love, prayers and support during our times of loss and health challenges this year – most recently, the passing of Sheila. The hundreds of messages, cards, emails, and phone calls have all been appreciated more than you will know. The way the church rallies around one of their family when they are experiencing hard times is the church is at its finest. We are so blessed to be a part of our diocesan family. We love and care and appreciate all of you!

Episcopal Church joins in prayer for Armenian Church of America

“Episcopalians, like so many others, have been saddened by news of the increased hostilities between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And now we are shocked and deeply dismayed by the recent bombardment of the border of the Artsakh region. It is heartbreaking indeed.”

This was part of a letter by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry written to The Rt. Rev. Daniel Findikyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern). The Episcopal Church has joined with ecumenical partners in prayers for a peaceful end to the conflict. Read the entire letter here.
Beginning in March, Episcopal Relief & Development’s US Disaster Program offered webinars on topics related to ministry during the current pandemic. Over the summer, program staff held a few interviews in the same vein. In case you missed them, they are available online to help you get caught up!
