Hello, stampin' buddy!

Oh man, don't you wish we really were stampin' buddies playing in the same craft room right now? We'd have so much fun! It's rainy and gray here today, the perfect day to stay inside and stamp!

I've been really struck lately by how much even a simple card can mean. I have to let you in on a secret. it really isn't about the card at all. It's about the caring behind it. The card is just an excuse, a front for the comforting little mental hug we get when we realize someone cared.

I want to be known as someone who was never too busy to cheer up a friend. Who never put her "art" above her mission. The cards got in the mail because that was the important part, not what they looked like, or even if they were handmade or not (gasp!)

Cardmaking is addictive, and so is kindness. Get those cards in the mail, friend!

Done is better than perfect. But "sent" will always be best of all.

You can make beautiful cards with ordinary, straight cuts, too! While I think EVERY crafter NEEDS  our new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, cards like this elegant Christmas one do not require any special tools. Just turning a plain square on end, shown here, adds something special and different--especially when your square is made with glimmer paper!
If you're in the market for a die cutting system, though, you've GOT to check out our new, foldable Stampin' Cut & Emboss (and coming soon, the Mini 'Boss!!!) It would make the perfect holiday gift under your tree this year--endless hours of creative fun!

We made this simple but elegant card in Christmas Club last month, using the new Peaceful Nativity set. After the Mary & Joseph image was stamped, we used the Rich Razzleberry color from the Watercolor Pencil set to roughly outline the figures. All it takes is a scribble! Then, a Blender Pen smoothed the color outward to create a "glowing" background. Add a little Shimmer Spray (recipe below!) to the Rich Razzleberry cardstock, and it was easy to make a big stack of these meaningful, handmade cards.
