New PaPaS Co-ordinating Editor: Dr Neil O'Connell
We are very excited to introduce our new Co-ordinating Editor, Dr Neil O’Connell, having been Joint Co-ordinating Editor since January 2020 and an active member of the PaPaS Editorial Board for several years.
Malignant pleural effusions (MPE): new evidence on management
Our colleagues at Evidently Cochrane have published a blog on our recently updated review Interventions for the management of malignant pleural effusions: a network meta-analysis. Read the blog post here.
Psychological therapies for the management of chronic pain (excluding headache) in adults
This updated review, published in August, generated a lot of interest. We coordinated a dissemination plan for this updated review with the author team and Cochrane’s KT team in order to disseminate the evidence as widely as possible. See some of the resources available here.
The effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of hospital-based specialist palliative care for adults with advanced illness and their caregivers

Delivering transformative action in paediatric pain: a Lancet Child and Adolescent Health Commission
The commission sets out four important goals that, if achieved, will transform paediatric pain, making children's and adolescent's pain matter, understood, visible and better for future generations. PaPaS editors Chris Eccleston and Emma Fisher have played key roles in this commission, building on the excellent work carried out for the #timeforchange campaign in 2019. Review author training workshops
Cochrane UK is hosting virtual Review Author Training workshops on 3rd and 10th November. Two spaces have recently become available. If you are interested please see here for more details and registration.
Commencing Monday 2 November 2020, the conference will feature a week-long series of webinars, presentations and talks, showcasing some of the latest Marie Curie-funded research from their centres, Research Leads and Fellows, Research Grant Funding Scheme and the Marie Curie Research Voices Group.
