From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 4 and 5. The sign up link is available on our Parkview website. The schedule is below:
  • Wednesday, November 4  - Conferences 12:00 – 8:00
This is a regular at-home learning day for students and our Tier 1 Childcare will be open.
  • Thursday, November 5 – Conferences 4:00 – 8:00
This is a regular Cohort A day with students in school and an at home learning day for Cohort B. Conferences will take place in the evening from 4:00-8:00. Tier 1 Childcare will be open.

  • Friday, November 6 – No School for Staff and Students
    No Tier 1 Childcare
Conferences are scheduled for 15 minutes per family. Due to the number of conference slots, we have one conference session allocated for each family/child. In the event that there are two households for one child, please work together to schedule one appointment to learn about your child together.

Intervention teachers and Special Education teachers will partner with classroom teachers for conferences. Our specialists teachers are also available during conferences to discuss questions or concerns about Music, Library, Media, Art, Physical Education, and STEM. If you would like to schedule a conference or phone call with one of our specialist teachers, you may call the office directly to schedule a time at 952-431-8350.

Thank you for your support and continued partnership!
Sincerely,
Nicole Garcia

Parkview Fundraiser at Culver’s Apple Valley: October 26-29

Visit Culver’s Monday-Thursday between open and close (10:00 am-10:00 pm) to have a portion of your food purchase come back to Parkview Elementary. They are hosting two different schools at the same time so make sure to mention that you are visiting for the Parkview fundraiser when ordering. Most of the dining is drive through but they have recently opened their restaurant with limited seating. Thank you for your support!

Wednesday Meal Pick Up for Digital Academy Learners

Now that winter is upon us, we will be setting up a table for the Digital Academy meal box pick-up under the awning. Parents will have to leave their vehicle and walk up to get their meal boxes. This was policy during the spring COVID feeding and summer feeding, they do not want staff to risk getting sick.

Remember that pickup times are 10am to 11am and that pick-up for winter will be under the awning at the front doors.

Dress for the Weather

We will continue to go outside for recess, gym, and some classroom activities even in colder weather, so it is important for your child to have winter clothing every day. Please be sure your child has a hat, gloves/mittens, a jacket, boots, and snow pants when needed.

When should I keep my child home this year?

Our goal is to keep students in school for as long as we can safely do so. This means we need your help to ensure your child is healthy enough to come to school each day. Please keep your child home if:
  • They have any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4, new or worsening cough, difficulty breathing (wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath), loss of taste or smell
  • They have two or more of the following symptoms: sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new headache, new nasal congestion or runny nose
  • You have been told your child is a close contact of someone diagnosed with COVID
  • Anyone in your house is being tested for COVID due to symptoms
