Today 55 per cent of the world’s population live in cities and towns and the number is growing every day. Urban October is an opportunity for everyone to be part of the conversation about the challenges and opportunities created by the fast rate of change in our cities and towns.
Green Corridors
Tuesday 27th October, 6.30pm
Join us for an online event featuring speakers who are making green corridors a reality in their cities and inspiring us in London to do the same. Increasing and connecting urban green spaces has many benefits - from reducing the impacts of climate change, such as heat and flooding, and sustaining biodiversity, to improving the physical and mental health of city residents. Speakers include one of our London National Park City Rangers, as well as representatives from London, Lisbon and Medellin.
Voices from around the World - FREE -
Thursday 29th October, 8AM, 2PM and 8PM (GMT)
Join us online for a series of quick fire talks by inspirational people who are taking actions in their cities to make them greener, healthier and wilder. Cities are full of millions of people who have ideas and projects to make life better. What if we shared those ideas more and inspired other people to do them too?
As part of Urban October and our campaign for 25 National Park Cities by 2025, we are holding a special series of online events on Thursday October 29th 2020. The event will be hosted by the National Park City Foundation in partnership with World Urban Parks and Salzburg Global Seminar. There will be three sessions during the day so that we can collaborate across timezones. Each session will be different.
