Pumpkin Detectives Needed at Hawkstone Park Follies!

Hawkstone Park Follies are asking kids to join them this half term and Halloween to help their resident trolls find a lost pumpkin.

Young explorers will need to follow the Halloween trail to find the letters which when spelt out will reveal the missing pumpkin’s location. If successful, children will be awarded a Pumpkin Detective Certificate!

Painting Cheeky Chickens at Hawkstone Park Hotel

There are limited places left at a brand-new event for Hawkstone Park Hotel. The hotel has collaborated with renowned artist Sam Morris to offer a unique 2-day painting experience. Budding artists will spend two days developing techniques and learning the skills to create their very own characters, whilst staying in the heart of the Shropshire countryside.

Sam Morris is a British artist who specialises in painting cows, from realistic and traditional portraits to fun and stylised paintings. She runs numerous workshops helping people with their painting techniques.

Marches Growth Hub helps thousands of businesses during lockdown

Thousands of businesses have been given vital help during the coronavirus crisis by the Marches Growth Hub, new figures show.

The hub – the expert one-stop business advice and support service for Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin – handled a huge rise in inquiries from worried companies and business people during the lockdown.

Its three bases in Hereford, Shrewsbury and Telford were at the forefront of the drive to keep businesses informed about the fast-changing situation throughout the spring and early summer and help them survive the crisis.

Marches LEP summit launches economic recovery work

Work to produce a comprehensive plan to set the Marches on the road to economic recovery following the Covid-19 outbreak has been launched at a major summit in the region.

The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership’s Economic Recovery Summit has highlighted a range of priorities for rebuilding the region’s economy and helping its business community recover from the impact of the virus.

New bespoke adventure playground planned for Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, Blists Hill Victorian Town

A bespoke adventure playground could be created at the award-winning Blists Hill Victorian Town under ambitious plans to attract a new generation of families and visitors to the historic site.

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust wants to develop the playground – inspired by the industrial history of the site – as part of its new three year plan and says it will play a key part in boosting revenue in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis.
