Community Policing Conversation

To further our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity, the Community Foundation hosted a social distancing Community Policing Breakfast on October 28th at Lorain County Community College. Guest included police chiefs from across the county, Community Foundation Board and staff, and key community partners to help establish a foundation to move forward. More information to come.

REI Phase l

On October 26th & 27th, our Board, staff, and some non-profit leaders attended a virtual Racial Equity Insitute Phase One training. This two-day long process helps to provide talking points, historical factors, and an organizational definition of racism. REI believes that organizations are often working in intentional civil ways, yet operating from multiple understandings that rely more on personal feelings and popular opinion. This creates complications to the goal of eliminating racial and ethnic disparities and producing equitable outcomes. As a part of our commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and equity, the Community Foundation will continue to find and participate in learning opportunities for all.
