Warm greetings to you! I hope this letter finds you well. Thank you for receiving my latest news!
Upcoming exhibition of new works at Burnet Fine Art October 24th - November 28th, 2020
I am pleased to announce that a new body of work I created during the stay-at-home order will be exhibited at Burnet Fine Art & Advisory in Wayzata, MN beginning October 24th. In addition, I am thrilled that Marian Lovett, an arts writer and curator from Dublin, has written an essay for the exhibition catalog.
Please join me for the opening reception at the gallery on Saturday, October 24th from 2-7pm. A preview of the upcoming exhibition is available here. There will also be an artist talk at the gallery to be announced at a later date.
For more information and details about the exhibit, please visit Burnet Fine Art's website here.
A selection of these new works were initially reviewed by Lori Waxman - a Chicago-based critic and art historian - who highlighted the project on her website, 60 WRD/MN Art Critic. You can read her review here.
Community engagement with Turn Up the Turnout initiative
As part of my ongoing social practice, I joined the committee for Turn Up the Turnout, a non-partisan initiative which encourages voter turnout. Over 20 artists including myself, 17 of whom identify as BIPOC or LGBTQ+, shared their artwork to create buttons and stickers in an effort to get the word out, especially among young voters. These buttons and stickers are available for free at a number of locations and online here. I am especially grateful that the Star Tribune highlighted these efforts in a recent article which you can read here.
